ViaVia Jogja’s Journey to our Three Decades in 2025: Planting Seeds of Change in Totogan Village, Kebumen

For nearly thirty years, ViaVia Jogja has been a steadfast presence in Yogyakarta, implementing our commitment to sustainability and community engagement. To commemorate our 28-year journey, we have undertaken the initiative to plant 1,750 trees in Totogan Village, Kebumen. This milestone not only symbolizes our dedication but also marks the outset of our journey towards 2025, three decades of ViaVia Jogja.

T4T Farmer Partners: Cultivating Change, One Tree at a Time

Of the planned 1,750 trees for this year, an impressive 1,650 have already taken root in Totogan Village, thanks to the diligent efforts of our T4T farmer partners. This decade-long collaboration between ViaVia Jogja and T4T has played an important role in fostering positive change in the landscape, tree by tree. Four months into the initiative, the specifics of these trees can be easily accessed through a QR code, offering details such as the farmer’s name, tree variety, and precise location on a map.

Planting Roots: 100 Sengon Trees (Albizia chinensison) Take Root

On December 12th, fourteen dedicated staff members from various units of ViaVia Jogja came together to plant 100 sengon trees (Albizia chinensison) on the land of Mr. Nurismanto, one of our T4T farmer partners. Carefully selected to meet the farmers’ needs and adapt to the local climate, these trees mark the start of a grand vision to foster a greener environment. Other varieties planted include Indigofera, Calliandra, Jabon (Neolamarckia cadamba), Avocado, Durian (Durio), and Petai/bitter bean (Parkia speciosa)

T4T Shoutout: A Decade-Long Green Journey

A special acknowledgment is reserved for Trees4Trees, our steadfast partner in this green journey for the past ten years. ViaVia Jogja and Trees4Trees have jointly sown seeds of hope and growth, one tree at a time.
Trees4Trees is a non-profit foundation which produces seedlings of high value species, which are distributed to local farmers free of charge, along with technical guidance on planting, good forestry practices and education on the benefits of a healthy environment. The trees are recorded and monitored on a continuing basis.
